I haven't ridden Tevis, but I've done multidays.

My decade team horse, Blue, has nice withers and 
a good straight back.  I've been using a Stubben Kerry 
GX with a 32 cm tree on him for most of the 12 years 
I've had him.  I use an equipedic pad.  His back is 
always fine.  

The worst saddle fit for him would have to have been 
every Wintec I've ever tried.
