Re: [RC] Tevis & Thumps - Thoughts on Prevention and Treatment - wrecksdukeI heard many horses were pulled early at Tevis for Thumps. Is this typical at Tevis OR! are there some over zealous, "new" vets on board? I friend was almost pulled at Robinsons for suspected thumps. She gave her horse some tums, walked him around, some light massage and voila..... he was good to go at a re-check within 30 minutes later. WHO knows if the tums or any of that half hour treatment actually helped....or if the diagnosis of thumps was erroneous. I know the vets are supposed to be helping.... but do they realize how much time and energy and emotions go into getting to the start line of Tevis. Its a shame that sometimes riders get pulled in error. (OK, I guess on the converse side, there are horses that should have been pulled and do not.) ---- sherman <sherman@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: I know some riders/owners use the BC2A. Can you tell us your protocol and the reasoning behind it. Is there any use for it with thumps? or mostly for helping HR and muscle?
