[RC] Saddle Background - Tom Sites/Carrie - Kitley, Carrie E Civ USAF AFSPC 30 MDSS/SGSLFTom - you're right about this, but in reality, with the surplus in horse flesh and the economy, people CAN easily spend less on horses right now. It's easy enough to get a for FREE with the current market, so why buy at all if it's not necessary? I agree that you often "get what you pay for" but I know there are tons of perfectly good horses out there right now that need re-homing, so no need to buy. Carrie Just to add what made me make the statement that people spend more for their saddles than they do for their horses. There was a person with means looking for a horse. They have a nice dually-diesel truck ($40-60K) and a nice trailer w/ living quarters ($30-60K) plenty of nice saddles and i sent 2 nice horses for consideration. One was $3500 and the other $6500 and both were ready to go. What did this person take?? A horse for $ 350 (yes thats three hundred and fifty dollars) and i wish them well, and it gets me back to my point that today people spend more on their 'stuff' than they do on their horses. End of my conversation on this subject. ts =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
