RE: [RC] re: Melissa's view of the Duck :) - Bob Morris1983 was our first experience with the XP Bucklands to Egan Canyon. 250 miles with minimal trail markings, minimal vet intervention and maximum country to see. We were told there would be no vet support if y0ur horse was sick or injured and there were many places where only horse or motorcycle could access the trail. Support crews saw you off at the start and met you at the finish. There were times that the support crews traveled three times as far as the horses just to get to the finish. But then we were adventurers, not dilettantes looking for the easiest way to go the distance. I have to set the record straight here: Yes, Dave "the Duck" Nicholson's 5 day XP rides were/are an amazing success and my five day completion in 1984 remains one of the highlights of my endurance career =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
