[RC] Any Other Hematoma Sufferers Here? - Michael Lewis
Many of you may have seen my previous post here
regarding the trouble my mare is having with what appears to be a recurring
hematoma, following expensive invasive surgery in December to remove the
mass. Curious to know others' experiences. I'm torn between
euthanizing the horse, finding a home for her (a very long shot), or trying to
treat her and compete her if I can afford her board bill after paying the
treatment fees each month.
Have not had any nibblers for taking the horse off
my hands.
What can I expect if I elect to treat? How
expensive has it been for others, and what is the prognosis as far as continued
usefulness for Endurance? This horse walks on water, and the hope is that
she will continue to be able to compete (again, coming down to the cost
issue!)
