[RC] re: head dipping (thread from last week) - Mary KraussFound out this weekend that my 13 yr old mare begins dipping her head after a few miles on the trail if the saddle is too far back. When she started dropping her head every few strides, I began to worry. The lady I was with said that the girth looked good--that it was no longer in her armpit. I said, "oops, it's supposed to be in her armpit." Hopped off, moved the saddle up, and, presto, no more head dipping. For whatever reason her saddle needs to sit further forward than it would sit on a different horse.Good luck with your dipper. Hope you discover the cause. It's so dang hard for them to tell us what's bothering them. mary k. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
