RE: [RC] ground controll shoes - heidi larsonI have only ever been able to reset a pair or two (early in the season, not riding as much as I'd like) my farrier does put in a toe nail, no special things, maybe a clinching a week or so in. I started this season in steel due to so much mud and knowing I wouldn't get to ride much (very rainy and I'm a fair weather rider) but my horse goes better in the GC. Shelly type feet don't work as well in them as the hoof tends to flare a bit due to the shoe giving during concussion. I keep them on all season and he goes barefoot for about 3+ months from Nov. through February. . o o o o . o_ \ \____ o_ \_\ . Are you able to reset them after 6 weeks of hard riding? Have had no rock issues at all, I ride on gravel roads mostly. Have only lost one shoe (at a ride) but had a spare in my cantle bag and was pushing the amt. of time between shoeings! I usually go 6 weeks with hard riding. . o o o o . o_ \ \____ o_ \_\ . I have a mare that I am doing currently doing LD’s with and she is doing beautifully. She is fixing to get her first set oftheseshoes and my only concern is this possibility. Has anyone ever had this problem with these shoes? F Hall=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
