Re: [RC] State Parks (OT) - a.hoinsWhere this subject applies to endurance is the effect the present direction of our economy has on our being able to attend all the rides we would otherwise choose because we are so overburdened with growing taxes and inflation brought on by very bad decisions of our government. That said... Where do people get the grand idea that life is fair and people are all equal, other than in the opportunity to try... think Statue of Liberty! If capitalism is so bad and socialism, or in the US's present situation, where Marxist steps are taking our liberties as we speak, is sooo much better, where are the stellar examples? Where else in history has there been a middleclass as we have been enjoying these many years? Mike, first I would not trust any statistics from the IMF, World Bank or any remotely connected to the UN. Second, in economic terms, any of those countries mentioned are only ahead of our nation because of the growing stranglehold of socialist, intrusive, legislation and regulation imposed by our government. Where I would fault the US is in that many people have become lazy and self absorbed. They can't be bothered with the issues of the day, which explains how those with anti-constitution, pro-socialist, communist, marxist ideologies have gained a stranglehold in our schools and government(s). Oh, and by the way, Ireland is ahead of the US because they dropped their corporate tax rate attracting companies fleeing high taxes, and what's wrong with that? It is these same anti-American, anti-constitutionist who have vilified wealth. If you would apply to competition of any sort what you have sited as the evils of capitalism, we would not have any of the hobbies that are enjoyed by those of us in the middleclass. I'm amazed how well meaning folks like you are shooting themselves in the foot with their own argument. Enough said, I'm going out to play with my two horses, which evil capitalism has afforded me;o) Back to lurking Annie On Tue, 9 Jun 2009 12:00:22 -0700 "Mike Sherrell" <mike@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: IMF World Bank The CIA World Factbook and Ireland is in 6th place, just ahead of the US.
