They will haul your jeep, quad or dirt back back to your camp for FREE, after you stupidly crash into a tree...as well as provide EMT services (my daugther does this off season when she is not a ocean lifeguard for Calif state beaches).... Nice to know you get IMMEDIATE medical help when you hurt yourself tearing up the countryside, and creating huge, ugly mud pits.... In my opinion, this is not a "use" of the land, but ABUSE....this would have been the IFRST choice 'I' would pick to close <g> Oh, this is not "trash" land, or desolation...but our precious oak woodlands.... I tried to look online to see exactly where the proposed budget was going, but they are pretty vague about it. I heard there is a good sized chunk set aside for seals. Good for them, but I think they could give up their share in order to keep our parks open. The seals seem to be doing just fine...they have their own private beach in La Jolla for goodness sake! Used to be the Childrens's Beach until the seals took it. Before this the scare tactic was taking away our firefighters and police... and letting felons out before their time was up. There are many many ways to cut costs, but they are not giving us choices. I think they should hand out a checklist of where the tax dollars go and allow us to choose where we want our money spent.
