The Sangre De Cristo mountains were the backdrop for awesome beauty. The peaks were still heavily streaked with snow and shrouded in swirling clouds. Even though there had been rains days before the ride, the actual ride days weather were cool, overcast and basically stayed dry until later in the day. The trail was well marked and Linda, our ride manager kept everyone well fed, with lunch AND dinner. The vet staff did a superb job and everyone seemed to have a good time. If you have the opportunity to attend her fall ride the first weekend of October in the same area, put it on your calendars as you will be rewarded with the autumn gold of Colorado set against the beauty of the Rocky Mountains.
