Re: [RC] Folsom lake accident - martha merriamWe were riding in this area on New Years Day and came upon two jeeps and a big fwd truck on one of the single track trails. I told them they were not allowed and they claimed they were looking for a turnaround. Turns out they had passed several. We remembered a license number and I called it in to the ranger the next day. The ranger said they really need to catch them in the act. I took some pictures of the damage - not the worst as it took awhile to get over seeing all those guys - we were me, my daughter, Spot the horse and Scout the dog. But there was alot of damage to the trail. NOTHING CLOSE to as serious as what happened that weekend of course. The ranger gave me the dispatcher number for when you see someone doing something wrong in a state park in northern California. I know not all of you are from this area; maybe you can get a similar number for your park rangers. You need to give the dispatcher the best information you can regarding location and the situation, and they will come out (hopefully in a timely fashion). The parks department claims this is happening because the lake is low - I've ridden there for years when it is low and there have never been motorized vehicles that I've seen. It's a terrible situations that has got to stop. Here is the northern California parks department dispatch number: 916-358-1300 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
