Mary is sooo right. Unfortunately, the almighty dollar (or glory or
ego) plays a huge role in any competitive sport, including distance
events. I have seen people "cheat" at a competitive trail venue for a 2" x
6" ribbon (of any color, not just blue). It is a shameful human quality
that we should ALL aspire to leave behind us.
