Re: [RC] round reins / not rope - Katrina MosshammerActually I've found a way around that...fingerless gloves. I have a set of Danskin women's weightlifting gloves that are the best and they don't get too hot in the summer. They are lycra and mesh leather just on the palm and the palm side of the fingers, so that keeps them cool and they come halfway down each finger so it gives me protection when I grip stuff but leaves my fingertips free for more intricate things. I LOVE THEM!!! Unfortunately I can't seem to find any more and I don't know what I'm going to do when they wear out. I can find plenty of weightlifting gloves that are all leather but none that are the lycra and mesh. :-(Katrina Mosshammer (AERC # 5763) -------------------------------------------------- From: "Mike Sherrell" <mike@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 22, 2009 9:50 AM To: "Ridecamp" <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: FW: [RC] round reins / not rope The problem with gloves is you can't feel anything nice with your hands, such as in particular your horse's coat. It's the sensual input that is really the main reason for riding, no? And the palms of your hands and fronts of your fingers are the part of your skin that is most tactilely informative. Wind in the face is nice, too. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
