RE: [RC] round reins / not rope - Kristen A FisherI have a pair of reins I got from Sportack that are a bit thicker [3/4" dia], don' have as much drape, and have a rougher feel than the newer set I have: http://www.sportack.com/cms/index.cfm/path/94789/96913/96322/96334/96602/ The new ones I got from StableGear are much softer, a bit smaller [9/16"], and have more drape: Soft Polyester Braid rope reins http://www.ciwtrailers.com/sgreins.htm#Reins Either could cause rope burns in the wrong situation but I think the latter are less likely. I suspect cheaper ones would be worse, and expensive ones (with the leather more smoothed) would be the same or better. But when I fell off the other weekend, I got some pretty bad rope burn on a couple of my fingers. I really like the round reins though, as opposed to flat. Are there any round rein options made of another material that would not be susceptible to rope burn?
