RE: [RC] round reins / not rope - Kristen A Fisher

I have a pair of reins I got from Sportack that are a bit thicker [3/4"
dia], don' have as much drape, and have a rougher feel than the newer set I
have:

The new ones I got from StableGear are much softer, a bit smaller [9/16"],
and have more drape:
Soft Polyester Braid rope reins

Either could cause rope burns in the wrong situation but I think the latter
are less likely.

There are leather round reins, but since they are made of 
braided leather, I'm not sure whether they would be better at 
preventing rope burns.  I suspect cheaper ones would be worse, 
and expensive ones (with the leather more smoothed) would be 
the same or better.
