A few years ago, I chopped Zephyr's ~24" mane off to around 4".  I  
LOVED how easy it was to take care of, and thought it looked quite  
dapper.  My mother was HORRIFIED.  She told me Zephyr would be  
traumatized until it grew back out.  She offered to come put  
extensions in.  I did not take her up on the offer.
