Re: [RC] Thornhill Trail saddles - Quentin & Libby LlopI had a couple of these ten years back or so. We sold them because they were foam stuffed at that time and also a little wide in the tree for our horses. I've thought about trying one again now that they are wool flocked. My current favorite Thornhill saddle is the Berlin. Nice classic style, no extra padding to cause rubs. I have these for my young horses and haven't done a fifty in one yet (Who am I kidding? I rarely ever ride fifty miles in one saddle). But I ride in the Berlins a lot and the person who took my young mare in a 30 last spring had no complaints. At 35 miles I developed a very "nice" blister on my behind where the elastic in the leg of my underwear rubbed against the stitching on the seat. It left a baseball sized open sore. I eventually sold the saddle because of this. I did 3-50 mile rides in it though and my horse was fine. I did put Flair in the saddle. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
