[RC] LONGSTREET'S CHARGE - rides2farI want to apologize to all of you wonderful people who desperately want to pre-enter Longstreet's Charge for not having the final entry form available yet. I will say, very little has changed from last year, no price increases, etc. Hope you think it's worth waiting for...a beautiful rugged mountain trail where you never see pavement, houses, motorcycles, 4-wheelers or really much of anything civilized once you are on course. Just thick green forest, mountain streams, beautiful overlooks and Mountain Laurel in full bloom. As for the delay on the entry forms...There were just a few tiny details I wanted to change...like getting the driving directions corrected to include changes to roads in recent years that made it difficult for some last year. Sounds simple, but I had to take a Saturday and drive close to 100 miles covering 3 different approaches, clocking distances and stopping at each intersection to write down mileage. That was a big deal. Then here's another change we've delayed for: FOOD! We found a Mounted Shooting club that has an authentic Chuckwagon and their members will show up in full cowboy gear and grill hamburgers & hotdogs! Had to make sure that was nailed down for the entry. The ride is May 23 SATURDAY. Since the old entry form was still up on-line I worried that someone may think this is a Sunday Memorial Day weekend ride. It is not. Right now I'm waiting for one more official phone call from someone who is probably at a ride and unreachable till Mon. morning, but then the PDF will go up and I'll be happy to e-mail it personally to anyone who is waiting.
