That's the best advice I've ever read and it absolutely correlates with my experience. My hot fast-walking horse can now walk as slowly as the slowest dude string horse. He can lead the group. He can tag along at the end. It took four years and he's still anxious at the start of a competitive ride, but he's no longer embarrassing.
