Personally, I prefer a big lollypop for a 100 or a 100 mile loop. My
next choice is a a 50 mile loop. Running 6 or 7 times out of camp is
not my idea of a good time nor does either horse I've ridden many miles
particularly care for it. I normally don't have an Army big enough to
provide the logistics of a point to point, although I agree that if one
could easily get back to pick up my rig it would be my favorite.

Are there other point to point 100s besides Tevis?
There aren't any in my region. I do know of some single loop 100s in different places.
I considered doing the Big Bear 100 as a point to point (because I had an almost perfect 100 mile trail for it and had access to camp locations on both ends), and even surveyed people as to their preferences. Virtually everybody said that they would prefer to end where they started...additionally, the logistics of getting vets and crews to all the vet check locations was a night mare, so ti would have been a good eal more expensive.
Personally, I have not gone to Tevis because of the same logistical nightmare aspects of its point to point-ness.
