[RC] Opening Adobe pdf files for ride flyers - Michael MaulOften ride managers will make ride flyers/entries available online at the Ride Calendarhttp://www.doublejoy.com/erol/Calendar/ridesCUSTOM.asp for their rides. These are always Adobe pdf files which can be read with the free Adobe Reader. Some members have trouble opening these files and it's usually because they have old versions of Adobe Reader - typically version 7.xx which is about 2 years old. Both the 7.x and 8.x versions have security problems. You should update your version to 9.1.0 at http://get.adobe.com/reader/ This works fine for those with a fast connection even though the file is about 41M. Adobe adds in the AIM s/w whether you want it or not. The file used to be about 16M for just the reader. For those with dial-up or those who simply want a much more efficient pdf reader - you can try the free Foxit reader 3.0 at http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/reader-interstitial.html Both of these versions will open any pdf file on the calendar.
