[RC] Horses who don't pee in the trailer - BobbyCalapooia - shermanTitle: MessageMy daughter's mare
would pee overnight when camping, but on ride day she would not pee until home
that night, even as late as 9PM, and she had to go under "her tree". She would
not go if we kept her tied in the barn or trailer (to check pee color) had to go
to "her tree" to pee. She never had any problem from this behavior, however, it
all changed one ride when we came upon a very young girl who had to pee NOW on
the trail. The mare did her first pee on the trail then and has been doing it
ever since.  My daughter had never used the trail, had always waited until
there was a porta-potty available, or had me hold her mare while she went
waaay off trail, into the bushes, out of sight and scent. So if you haven't held
your horses reins while you relieve yourself, try that...maybe it'll encourage
your horse.

And that's even after being tied to the trailer (outside) for treats, grooming, cleaning, etc. for 15-20 minutes after the ride. What's up with that? Do you think she just feels more comfortable going in her own trailer?? :) Yes, she's completely and 130% healthy otherwise.
