Re: [RC] How long do wood floors last (was:shavings in the trailer) - rides2farIt depends on how well you take care of it. However, I have a 1993 Logan 2 horse straight load that still has the origianl wood floor OK, I'm probably cursing myself, but my 1988 2 horse has original wood floor, I live in high humidity, it's never been stored in doors, I just kick the manure out the back but have never hosed it out. No shavings. When I camped in it I just dragged the mats out the back and flipped them over. That's the "patio" and actually makes a good place to stand your horse while sponging down if you have no crew and take the horse back to the trailer. I do stick a sharp knife along the edges of the boards every Spring. I replaced an original floor in an old trailer of mine and it was a pain. I wanted oak and had to finally get a sawmill to cut the lumber. Then it wasn't treated so I painted it with toxic stuff that probably smelled horrible to my horse, then the boards never did lay as flat as the old ones, etc. etc. Angie McGhee ____________________________________________________________ Digital Photography - Click Now. http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/fc/BLSrjpTDvmRJre7DPD8Ww7cGThzh8zWGa9wlSuc1WGdKYITLl6xThrqPKy0/ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
