Re: [RC] Horse pee-ing question - Elizabeth WalkerMy old horse was a champion pee-er. However, it was most likely due to his over-use of the salt block. In his elder years, he appeared to be pre-Cushings, but he only started developing that after age 20. However, he was in a stabled environment, not a pasture -- the salt block use was most likely due to boredom. You might ask your vet if there are any tests that make sense to run, but it also might just be that he is a big drinker. I taught him to pee on command before we leave the pasture. Sometimes he goes twice before we get to the gate. And it's not that big a pasture. If we go out for a couple of hours, he will pee at least once more. If we go on a longer training ride, he might pee three times. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
