I would try on a small area the following and this is just off the top of
my head.  I would try a small area with a teeny bit of neatsfoot .

The other think I might try because I have cleaned bridles and saddles with
it for years is Murphys oil soap (not the liquid stuff) but the gel stuff
and just rub a bit (I usually just get my hand or cloth a little moist
(very very little moisture and rub it into the leather) into a small spot
and see how that works.  You might try the same with glycerine saddle soap
bar.  and then work the skin some.
