We like to judge horses on their individual merits: ?conformation, attitude, temperament.....so many things about a horse are more important than its color. ?Malik is a beautiful rose grey, and has thrown grey, bay and chestnut. ?Even greys have unique colorations...we've had some that looked absolutely pink that started out chestnut, and then we've had some beautiful dappled greys, and our half Arab mare, Steppin, who is dark and looks as if she always has a frost to her coat! ?Go figure. ?But, my love for them goes beyond their color.

Greys certainly blend into any landscape better if the landscape is mostly dirt...because invariably greys become dirt colored.

Personally, I have always had a preference for chestnuts (after all, Man o' War was a chestnut), but right now, I have a bunch of bays.? Go figure.
