Re: [RC] Silver legacy the support of our convention - Joe LongBarbara McCrary wrote:There have been several occasions where the AERC deal has not been as good as other options. I remember one year where someone attending the convention walked in at the last minute and got a room for considerably less that the AERC deal. Of course, you are taking a chance that there will be no rooms. I find hotels are like airlines...it's what the price will bear and how anxious the hotel is to book all rooms. It's also a little like buying a car .... Well, I'd hate to see the AERC get stuck with a big bill because we don't fill the block of rooms. But to me a room is just a place to sleep, clean up and change clothes. I don't care about size or amenities. I always try to find as cheap a room as I can that is reasonably convenient to the Convention. This year, if I stayed in an AERC room instead of at Circus Circus, I'd pay more in extra room cost than the cost to register for the Convention. I can't justify doing that to help fill the block. <sigh> I miss the old Roof Garden rooms at the Nugget. -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxxxxxxx =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
