Re: [RC] [RC] Permanent trail marker materials - Barbara McCrarySteel nails also dull the saws, as well as being dangerous (if the nails are large enough.)Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Truman Prevatt" <tprevatt@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Don Huston" <donhuston@xxxxxxx> Cc: <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, February 18, 2008 5:50 AM Subject: Re: [RC] [RC] Permanent trail marker materials The only restrictions we have in FL State Forest is if you attach to a tree you have to use Aluminum nails. Why, I asked since they are a pain to drive. The reason I was told - if the tree is harvested and a saw blade - either sawmill or chainsaw hits a steel nail it can create a dangerous situation. They cut right through an Al nail. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
