[RC] Ride Entry Fees - Beth Walker - Tx TriggerAnd there are many who do take only one horse to multi day rides, and either shoot for riding all 5 days (and do), or ride every other day. But the bottom line is, you get to make the choice if you want to attend a multi day ride that does not give refunds for pre-paid entries if something happens, and your horse can not continue after a day or two. That is what is wonderful about this sport, you have choices. On the long XP in 2001, Carol Crawford took one horse. Hauled him from Oregon, to the start of the ride in St. Joseph MO. She rode him 34 of the 40 days. The entry was one price, for the whole ride. If you had to leave....no refund. In 2004, I took 3 horses on the long XP. I did not ride everyday, but the price was the same either way. My choice, and I knew the policy when I entered. But my trailer can hold 3, and if I hauled a long ways, I'd consider taking 3 along...just in case.
