Re: [RC] [RC] Youngster's endurance race - Maryanne GabbaniI'd say that the occasion answers the question. Actions always speak louder than words. Just the driving of the crew cars is plenty dangerous. Add to that the insanity of allowing kids to think that it's ok to break the sound barrier on their horses...well. Adults have enough hormones to make that a dangerous game, but kids are just a bit baggie full of hormones.I'd love to know for a fact the treatment programs for the horses that did that race. I realise that will never, ever, ever show and certainly not with warts and all. It's like our Pan Arab race where the winning horse was being supported by grooms from behind and lead by others who were straining on the lead rope to keep the horse from going down to roll. If ever anyone saw a colicking horse, this was a classic case. This was AFTER he passed the vet check. The horse went back to the vet check, was pronounced perfect and disappeared only to be named as 2nd BC later. Smelly, very smelly. And the sad thing was that it was all so unnecessary. The UAE had a HUGE lead. I'd actually kind of enjoyed the day up to that point.
