[RC] Babolna National stud, home of purebred Arabians and Shagyas - Donna Coss

Those of us in the U.S. are waiting to find out how the best way to assist with the situation
in Hungary.

Today, it is confirmed that Tamas Rombauer, former stud manager at Babolna, Hungary.
will attempt to visit Kentucky on March 14-15-16. The stud farm was founded in 1789 and
has bred some of the finest purebred Arabians and Shagya Arabians found in the world today.

He will be a special guest at the fifth annual national meeting of the American Shagya Arabian Verband Inc.
which will be held at the farm of Darlene Steven, 5750 Buckcreek Rd., Finchville, Ky. If this becomes
reality, he will be able to speak with us and others who might be interested, in ways to garner support
and apply pressure, so that the Stud may continue. Tamas Rombauer was dismissed from his duties in January
and Babolna is in danger of being closed. Purebred Arabian groups are urged
to meet also with Tamas when he is in the U.S.

ASAV is also excited to announce that Carolyn Tucker, the owner of *OMAN, Shagya
stallion who ran the Tevis twice, and is the sire of FAYETTE De CAMEO as well as other endurance horses,
will be our Keynote speaker. She will be speaking twice on Saturday, March 15.

Carolyn was brave enough to put *OMAN through the ISR 100 day stallion testing and she has some interesting
stories to tell about this and antidotes about *OMAN and his career.

Their will be twelve clinicians, two international, as well as Mr. Rombauer, Ms. Tucker and also Frank Bakonyi,
who is the Hussar Calvary founder from California. So the weekend is packed full of interesting topics. Also
a chance for you to learn about the Shagya.

Go to www.shagyaregistry.com for more information or e-mail shagyaarabs@xxxxxxxxxxxxx for more
information. You do not need to be a member--this is an open meeting and everyone is welcome to attend.
Nominal fee of $35 for weekend or $20 single day attendance. Buckcreek farm is about 35 minutes from the Louisville
airport. The Ramada Inn, in Shelbyville, Ky. is offering special $69 rates. Ask for Arabian Club discount.
