This sounds like similar stuff. It is a black
felt, it melts if you put a welder to it (which is how seams are sealed for
sizes over 13' wide), so it is some sort of synthetic material that is fibrous.
It is sometimes called a "silt fence" for underneath roads and in
construction.
Yes, it holds up wonderfully! I got some that
was a fraction thinner once and it wore through in a year or so. But the
one that I am using now and had been marketed by the fellow that went out of
business (Rogue River Equestrian Solutions) is of a thickness that lasts.
Bob Ford has the contact info for the manufacturer and could find out the
exact density/thickness.
We use this stuff all the time for trail repair/renovation
projects.
I confess that it never occurred to me to try it in a stall.
I just assumed the nail heads in the shod hooves would
tear it to shreds in no time. But, Dawn, you say it held
up
just dandy for five years in your stalls. Was there just
bedding on top of the geotextile? Or a layer of dirt?
