[RC] perspectives - Lynn WhiteWe had our first big storm here in Southern Idaho. It made me feel like I was back in Upper Michigan. One can handle any type of season with ease IF prepared before the snow falls. I walk at least two miles every day no matter what the weather is like…just dress of the conditions. People think I’m nuts, but I used to live off Lake Superior so winters here are mild in comparison. As far as riding goes, I don’t do a whole lot. I figure winter is the time for the healing for all those little injuries that are not apparent to us. Tendons and ligaments are like ropes. As ropes get used they start to fray. Winter is the time for the ropes to be repaired. That’s the way I look at it. Besides, I don’t have to worry about doing any cavaletti work when the horses are running though drifted snow. So winter is a great time to catch up on reading and watch the last of the old black and white movies I haven’t seen already.
