In this case, as a 501(c)3 public charity, we are able to get
true, tax deductible donations for food and awards, etc. Plus, many folk
really do care about the "cause" and are stepping up to be of assistance to help
cut costs. So we are hoping for a decent profit.

Just speaking of my
personal experience as a manager...there's not any funds left over after the
bills are paid. A lot of times you have to dig into your own pockets just to
pay the bills. JMHO

I have wondered this-why aren't there more fundraiser rides in
Endurance? Or maybe the ones I've ridden at just didn't publicize it
was a fundraiser? I'd personally rather some money go to a noble
cause, like this one, than get a silly t-shirt or other item. Most of us
have way too much "stuff" anyway. JMHO
