This might not be of any use, but I had a horse that someone
suggested might have a partial cleft palate. She would have water
(sometimes snotty) run out of her nose after she drank. Sometimes I didn’t
notice it at all, sometimes you couldn’t miss it. When we first
noticed it, we asked a few questions from vet and other experienced horse
people. The general consensus was that it couldn’t be that big of a
deal since she was 14 years old and I’d done a couple CTR and LD rides on
her with no problems (other than her first CTR ride where she didn’t pee
for 3 days!)
I really don’t know if this was related to a cleft
palate or not, but that’s the best I’ve got for you!
