I think that atttidue of I CAN do this is what makes us endurance riders. Even now, how many of us come back to the sport after injury, family problems, personal issues, horse problems...we're either gluttons for punishment or have that little something extra that keeps people going when things are tough.

It seems lots of us cut our teeth on the less-than-perfect "first horse" -- and we all came back for more. And seldom am I reading stories of hours in the ring on lesson horses or carefully managed riding situations . . .
I guess we've always been a Wild Bunch at heart . . .
