Re: [RC] WEC trails - Truman PrevattActually I think it has more to do with the difference with FEI championship endurance vs. what we think of longevity in the AREC. My horse has been around for a long time. We are a decade team. At 20 years old can he run a 5 hour 50 any longer - I would not ask him to because I doubt if he could. Have I taken him out to the back 40 and shot him because he's lost a step - nope. Will I - nope. Will I keep riding him as long as he keeps pulling my arms out during a ride - yep.For FEI championship endurance when the horse starts to lose a step they are not going to be able to win - they find another one. We are talking different sports. At the FEI championship if I were interested and weren't too heavy to participate - when he lost a step he would be retired and I'd have a younger version ready to go. Different sports - different definitions of longevity. Truman Richard ALLEN wrote:
