Re: [RC] Adequan - Elizabeth Walker

If Adequan is going to work, it will do so quickly enough that you don't have to wait 6 months. You should see improvement after the initial loading dose. Shadow had arthritis in his left front pastern. We started out on a 1-month program, but eventually ended up with an injection every 2 weeks. His symptom was a subtle favoring of the left front, which I could feel from the saddle. About once a year, the standard injection didn't do it, and we would need to repeat the loading dose. If his shot was late, he would start going off the following week. Give him the shot, and he was back to normal the next week.

I would make a *very* specific and detailed list of the problems that prompted you to try Adequan. This is your baseline. Then use the product for 6 months

Good advice, except I can say that my own joints ache more at certain times of the year...has to do with change in barametric pressure I think. It might be that the one that got the good weather looked better. I know people who put their horses on hoof supplements when the summer stomping of flies & dry weather has the hooves falling apart. The can says it takes 90 days or so to see improvement. Sure enough, when the weather changes and the flies are goine bingo...the stuff has done *wonders*. :-P
