Re: [RC] Diatomaceous Earth for worming? - Adamsch

I used d e for over a month and retested the fecal sample and there was NO change in the amount of worms. I have heard that once it is mixed with water, it is no longer effective, therefore when they poop it out and it drys out, it then does work (to one degree or another) as an earlier post said for the fly eggs.

I have found a natural wormer which contains wormwood and other herbs known to get rid of parasites and then I only use the commercial wormers 2 x's a year to work well. It is a compromise, but a least allows me to only aggressively worm 2 x's a year. If I could rotate my pastures I would only worm one time a year or maybe not at all (would test fecal samples). The larva have a 3 week cycle and if you can move them to a new pasture every three weeks, you greatly eliminate exposure. Has anyone tried this?
