I want my young horse (6 in April) to stay healthy
and happy, and I'd like to complete a 25
(the first for both of us). If that goes well, maybe a 50 next fall/winter? But
only if the first wish is granted.
The recent posts have been very interesting because
I was told last summer that he'll never be able to do endurance because of
high/low syndrome and/or a club foot, and that he'd need to be shod w/ wedges
just to stay sound, but he's been doing just fine w/ regular barefoot trims, so
we'll just have to see.
I just found out last week he has a fractured jaw
(had it x-rayed thinking it was an abscess), probably from getting kicked by one
of the more dominant horses he's turned out with, so I'm just grateful he wasn't
more seriously injured and that we still have a chance to spend the rest of our
lives together.
