My first goal is to get a saddle that
truly fits my difficult-to-fit horse. My second goal is to jump-start my
riding program, as I have been off of regular conditioning and have not
competed in over three years, maybe even four. I think I have a little
horse that can do a nice job on 50 milers, but all I have done with him is one
25 since I bought him in May of 2006. I thought perhaps he was not ready
for a 50 yet, but I found out he was...and I wasn't! And the saddle hurt
him, so I'm off on the great saddle search.
I'm most excited about finding the
right saddle, being able to ride him without hurting him, and getting myself
back in the kind of condition I once was.
I think that is enough of a goal for
the time being. Oh, yes, I would like to ride the Owyhee Canyonlands 5-day
ride. I love riding in the desert! And I love canyons and Indian
petroglyphs and 5-day rides.
I would like to suggest a new topic for
today. As alot of us are likely suffering cabin fever and dodging storms to
ride, let's talk about our goals for the season.
What is your first
ride planned?
What are you most excited about accomplishing this year
in general?
