I can - having a horse keel over at some point from being ridden in an
event like that while drugged. It appears that they don't particularly care
about public opinion or they wouldn't have done it. I think a one year
suspension would be good - a fine doesn't make them think twice about trying it
again - a suspension makes SURE they won't at least for a year. Drugging
horses.....for what? sigh! Devastating is seeing your horse who was carefully
ridden and monitored drop on the spot after the finish line and having no idea
why. Devastating is riding one's precious mare carefully, going home and getting
up a few days later to see her about an hour from death. now THAT is equine
devastation - not consequences for one's own illegal actions.
