Re: [RC] EC DQ - Tom Sites

I feel it was a 'failed drug test' because the winner failed the drug test.

Lets see a show of hands here on RC...

Who here was at the 1st WEC in Pratoni del Varvo in Italy in 1986. I was.

Who here was at the European Championships in Marloffstein, Germany in 1987? I was.

Who here was at the 2nd WEC in Ft. Royal in 1988? I was.

So since i was at these 3 events i have seen the De-Evolution of FEI Endurance.

People want to see Endurance in the Olympics, yet I think it was Marion Jones who just caught on steroids (doping the human) and what did they do to her? Took away a substantial amount of money, took away her medals, and probably, i don't know, banned her for a few years and she will serve jail time. Its a slap on the hand to the most serious infraction one can make in a sport to just take away a win and not sanction in some way the offender when the innocent horse is give a doping agent. . ts

sorry.. I'm feeling rather dense at the moment. why do you consider this recent news to be a 'failed drug test'?

I thought it was a pretty successful drug test...

I apologize for that mistake betweeen cases and races.

When i rode FEI Events they were so strict regarding clothing, taking your horse out of its stall during certain hours, crewing on trail and the myriad of 'stuff' they forced you to comply with that when something as serious as a failed drug test to the winner of a Championship, I not only think FEI has been gelded, but gelded by money.

FEI has sold out.

You changed the wording of the article - it said 'cases' not 'races'

->>An International Equestrian Federation spokesman said: "In these fast track cases as long as the rider pays a fine plus costs there is no further sanction, other than their withdrawal from the competition. ->>

I believe it was a 'fast track case' because it was not contested -

This speaks volumes.

FEI has lost its balls.
