Is this the best of strategy? >> This is actually different from years past, where they previously chose the (e.g.) 12 riders, and allowed riders to list more than one horse. This year's scenario would have been 12 riders, 14 horses going to Florida for selection. The squad of 6 and 3 alternates will be picked tonight.
