[RC] Animal by products in horse feed - Lynn White

Thanks for the info on the animal products in horse feed.  I’m not much for 
feeding my horses animal by-products so thanks!  I read that the Turkmen used 
to feed their horses this funky mixture of barley, eggs and mutton fat before 
setting out for battle or a raid.  I don’t think they did this very often 
because all three of these commodities were hard to come by in the desert.  
It’s probably the original high-fat/low sugar equine feed though.  Bottom 
line is that horses can survive on all sorts of things (like peanut butter 
sandwiches), it’s just a good idea to maintain them on what they were 
designed to eat.
