Re: [RC] Gaited Endurance Horse registry - Truman PrevattAnyone can create a breed registry. There use to be something called "the endurance horse registry of America." It was 400 endurance miles made your horse eligible - independent of breed.More and more gaited horse back riders are doing endurance. Back in the mid 90's I'd be riding the only gaited horse in a ride - today you see several. Some older riders are extended their riding years by switching to gaited horses. This guy sees a market and wants to capitalize on it. Truman Carrie Kitley-Jackson wrote: How can you develop a "breed registry" for a particular horse's 'way of going' and a specific sport? That's not a "breed!" Isn't that like developing a breed registry for floppy-eared dogs that play frisbee? -- “The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently.” Friedrich Nietzsche =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
