[RC] Maggie Mieske in Qatar - Maryanne Gabbani

I've been talking online and a little with Skype with Maggie Mieske who is in Doha, Qatar, with her husband Nelson.  She's teaching English at Qatar University and getting to know her neighbours who are a multinational lot. She says that they all seem to be really nice and a lot of fun.  It's rather warm there right now...Qatar is even hotter than Cairo...but it will cool off to some nice temperatures soon. They've been solving the usual moving problems of internet connections, slow computers and so on, but things are coming together. I'm  sure that at some point this winter I will have some guests at the farm and be making yet ANOTHER trip to the pyramids of Giza to show them around. I've only seen them a few hundred times but I have to admit that each time I see them with a new eye.

This is pretty good. So far I've had the Greenalls from Vermont, Paddi Sprecher from Canada (she's coming back in Jan/Feb with some new people to show around Egypt), Jackie Floyd from California, Pat Gott and Debbie DeShon from the Northeast, Jackie Bumgardner also from California, and of course Merri and Steph...though Jackie, Merri and Steph were before I had the farm going. Oh, and Jay Randle and a bunch of Ozzies are supposed to come by later in February too. I must say that you Ridecampers know how to travel. And apologies to anyone whose name I've missed on my visitor's list. I really should write them all down.

Maryanne
