Re: [RC] HAM Radio operators at rides - Joe LongAlissa Norman wrote: ... The HAMs have been invaluable to us, and they LOVE doing the rides! We did have drag rider HAMs one year, as well, which was really great. We may have to do so again this coming year, as we'll have rides, R&T, and a trail run all happening at once. This is how I discovered endurance riding -- by working the Alabama 50 as a HAM radio operator in 1976. At that time I was racing cars in the backwoods, and had recently totaled my race car. Once I discovered endurance I scrapped my plans to build another race car. I knew I couldn't afford both hobbies! -- Joe Long jlong@xxxxxxxxxxxxx =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
