RE: [RC] More Money (was: barefoot trim) - Jessica Raines

My trimmer charges 20.00 for a trim and has stopped my horse from tripping just by giving him a good well angled trim for his feet. He will shoe if you want or leave them bare if you want and knows more about feet than most “special” trimmers I’ve met. A good trim is just that a good trim. Some horses are best barefoot and some are best shod. A good horseman keeps his options open and listens to his horse.

Has to be put into perspective, I guess.....some observations from my neck of the woods......which would you rather do...spend $90 on shoes, and have a horse that trips month after month .....or $45-$60 on a "natural" trim and have the horse stop tripping and go sound over time?....this happened to at least 3 horses I know of....
