[RC] A good mechanic (was: More money) - k s swigart

Diane said:

I'll bet that all the auto mechanics in your area who work
on foreign made cars aren't top drawer either. Does that
mean you shouldn't own a foreign car? Or does it mean
you have to shop around till you find a good mechanic?

Well....the answer to this is: It depends...on how hard it is to find a
good mechanic.

And Karen brings up a really good point with respect to the difficulty
associated with shoing horses. Competent farriers can be hard to find,
and as far as I am concerned, this is one of the biggest reasons for
looking for an alternative (certainly the most valid).

The ability to find a good mechanic who can work on my car, or if not,
the ability to work on it myself are definitely things that go into the
decision on whether to own a particular car.

The ability to find a good farrier should definitely go into the
decision on what is the best hoof care decision for your horse.
