Re: [RC] Western WA Horse--I've seen this guy--grab him if you can! - Mary KraussLinda's horse Cam is fabulous. I haven't met Linda, but I went out to visit Cam because we live nearby. I nearly came home with him but my husband and I have a tense agreement about how many horses we can house. My beloved arthritic retiree Salima is waaay too happy to be put down, so I can't offer Cam a place. Here's the thing--he's an excellent endurance prospect. He's typical Polish--very strong, big, scopey guy. He's completed a couple of rides--can't remember if he's done a 50-miler as well as 25's. He's big enough for a heavy-weight, definitely exciting prospect for 100's. He's got beautiful big legs, strong and correct. (I'm a bit sensitive to legs now that I have a horse with weak pasterns....) Great feet, strong shoulders, strong back. He's going to go insane though, living in a 12 ft. box there at the stable (nice place but zero turnout and an owner in straits dire enough she can't get out to work with him apparently.) I turned him out into one of their little gravel paddocks--after about 10 minutes of moving around freely he transformed from strained, irritable guy into doe-eyed gentle guy. He is so ready for a long-term committed owner. Very gentle with my kids, playful with the water bucket, goofy and friendly and nuzzley once he's taken out of his box. Cam's stall stares into a wall, he gets out rarely, and he's going to go nuts if he doesn't find someone. Some horses seem to adapt well to stables--he's not that kind of horse. He needs to be out in a big ol' pasture. He's smart, strong, and eager. He's FREE. Go get 'im!!!!
